I will continue to take the Zantac even though you mention that it could inhibit my magnesium absorption as it seems to have corrected my issue. I want to thank you for your in depth research into what causes ectopic beats as I feel they helped me to see the connection to my stomach as well as feeling as if I have my life back. Now is this coincidence? Based on your videos of the vagus nerve and it’s connection to the heart/stomach, I don’t think so! I am back to one or two random ectopic beats per day. Well since then, the ectopic beats are basically gone. After further research and noticing that these ectopic beats would start as soon as I sat down to dinner, and even though I didn’t feel like I had indigestion, I purchased Zantac 150mg and started taking one daily 9 days ago. So, after a bit of research I started taking magnesium supplements which, seemed like a good idea even though a blood test revealed it was not low. You feel like each odd beat sinks your chest, and you feel a bit of blood rushes behind your eyes, you cough randomly and not to even mention the feeling of whether your not your heart will go back to normal rhythms or which odd beat will be your last. The feeling you have when feeling these ectopic beats every 6th beat for hours is absolutely horrible and makes you feel like you can’t live a life. Now dejected I felt the need to carry Xanax with me at all times because I was having these episodes for hours daily and I was starting to feel depressed. I was sent for a sleep study which revealed I should sleep with a cpap machine. Again told maybe I had a cold and the ingredient in a nasal spray was perhaps the cause. EKG and heart ultrasound again reveals no structural issues, perhaps a false tendon, but nothing abnormal. Now in April 2018, they seemed worse again, hours of skipped/missed beats, chest thumps, etc. The ectopic beats seemed to calm down on their own. I was told my heart structure was fine and to take Xanax as needed. So I saw a cardiologist who tested me via ekg, stress echo and Holter monitor which caught 41 ectopic beats. I had never felt them this consistently or for such a length of time before. I was always told they were related to stress and anxiety and since I could relate a run of these beats to any stressful argument I ever had, I stopped arguing with people and simply dealt with the one or two ectopic beats that I felt daily.įast forward to 2012, after a fun day visiting with a friend, and a few glasses of wine, I started feeling a missed beat every 20 seconds or so and it went on for hours. I would had one or two a day or a run if I got into an argument with someone. My story – I am 56 years old and have suffered with ectopic beats/palpitations since my mid 20’s. I am writing you regarding your facebook post related to all that is not shared is lost.įirst, I would like to thank you for your awareness of heart palpitations and the vagus nerve/stomach.
